Is it OK to regularly clean a toilet with acid?

My fear is that acid that strong may etch the smooth porcelain surface leading to much more rapid limescale formation below the pan waterline.

"Does anyone know of a reason why I shouldn't use acid though? I've been thinking I could neutralise it with some bicarb (poured in slowly!)"

2Fe(s) + 6HCl(aq) -> 2FeIIICl3 +3H2

So when you have converted your iron pipes to powder and gas......

And got acid splashes on your bum or in your eyes.....[/quote]
