Yes I get all my materials from a fantastic local independent builders merchant but unless you're in lancs that'll be no help to you. Where are you based?
Sheffins are national and supply metal stud and supalux - don't know how keen their prices are though:-

Total "pack out" from existing chimney breast was ~ 35-40mm (25mm stud+12mm supalux + 5mm vitcas plaster). They are pretty versatile though and you can set the studs to whatever "depth" (min 25mm) you want using the brackets.
