Hi

I have a Glowworm Ultracom 30cxi and was wondering if it is safe to put a mains powered fly zapper on the top of it?

Is it the bigger square insect killer with the UV light and live grid type? I'm guessing your thinking is, mains powered fly zapper with live internal grid, metal boiler case, possible water gets in the mix etc etc??

If you can place it anywhere else then personally I would. Ideally on a wall somewhere, I wouldn't recommend the top of a boiler as the best place to put something like that.

It depends how hot the top of the boiler gets and if it exceeds the operating temperature of the 'fly zapper'. I imagine it would be OK, but would be worth checking first.

Even if it doesn't exceed the operating temperature, running it warm may reduce its operating life.
