Sometimes the red light on the boiler flashes to denote a "lock-out" and other times I get a solid non-flashing red light for up to two hours whereupon the rads cool and nowt is possible until it turns itself back on. Am I right in thinking the former is a boiler problem and the latter an electricial problem - any ideas for a cure?

Phil, What type of boiler?????? make and model please
If its a Potty Suprima look up in search

I'm ashamed to say (and doon't laugh!!) that it is a Potterton Suprima 60 - it came with the house - not my choice!

RtFFAQ.
Then search for Potterton Suprima
And weep.
Then reach for your wallet and get a CORGI to put in a new-type PCB

Raden, if you have not already guessed, is NOT a CORGI !

B***er - sussed

Tell me, how many times have I been wrong so far ?

Why should he get a CORGI in to replace a bit of overpriced Lego ?

If I remember - I'll have a post for you tomorrow

I seem to remember that the Suprima PCB / CORGI / DIY / competence / legislation argument has been run through already, at least once, and the concensus was that I was wrong, although nobody could say why :?

OP - suprima pcbs are rubbish - whatever generation
get a recon

As long as you have a basic idea what you're doing, you should be able to fit it yourself

What you wrote looks OK to me

I seem to have ended up on an anti CORGI NAZI crusade here for some reason - mainly because they don't seem to appreciate that some people have a clue, and I resent that as someone who has
