I am trying to find out if I can do a loft conversion on my 1930's semi.

We already have planning permission (although this work is almost finished it has not yet been signed off) for a kitchen extension with bathroom extension over (so in effect a 2 storey extension) however this extension does not affect the roof space of the house.

I keep reading about this 50cubic metre limit is this limit just for the roof space??

Best thing to do is contact your local authority as it's not unusual for different areas to have different criteria. Also the location, position and size of your plot will affect things and so no one on here will be able to give a definitive answer.

Just for the roof space. The rear extension has no bearing on it.

This is subject to all other PD rules being satisfied.

To answer the question.

YES - it is possible.

Allowed though? You will have to ask your local planning authority.
