I am in the process of updating all my rads in the house.
I am draining and refilling the system alot as I do each couple of rads.
I was replacing a oldered T piece the other night and because of the water in the pipe I could not get the pipe hot enough. I cut the T piece off with a jigsaw (broke the blade) and remade it with a compression T.
The other night the wife was having a bath and she was sharing it with a piece of the hacksaw blade. I suspect the blade segment has travelled into the coil and mixed with the domestic water. Either that or it has been collected up in a wet towel and found its way into the bath,
How can I tell if the coil is leaking. I will be filling the central heating with flush and inhibitor soon and obviously I don't want to waste it.
I thought of stopping the header tank feed and checking the level. Any better suggestions (dye etc)
Thanks
