After checking online register of Gas Safe and Oftec, it seems the rural area I live in is now grossly oversubscribed in qualified people.
Not taking into account the unqualified people!
How is trade in your area of Britain?

Plenty to go round here, I'm rushed off my feet and the phone is ringing more often than I have time to deal with

I have a 3 man team plus good tiling and a joinery sub contractor. No web presence no advertising all by person recommendation. Permanently booked up 2 to 3 months in advance for installation work.

One thing I've noticed locally is that the number of larger firms employing several Plumbers seems to be fast diminishing, everyone is working for themselves now. Then when someone asks on Social Media for a recommendation, the same names are touting for the work.

The notable exceptions are those who have been around a little longer, seeming to have built up a solid reputation, and have no need to advertise, I can only assume it is repeat business and word of mouth keeping them busy.

The number registered has doubled over the last 20 years.
The average age is now around 55 with very few under 40 in the trade.
A significant no. only work part time and are semi-retired.

When I wanted a oil man it seems only one in the area, and he does people with no heating first. There is a van parked up the road with Gas Safe written on it, however since no gas in the area would not expect him to be busy. Although there are it seems some good deals for LPG, not sure I want a bomb in my garden.

After checking online register of Gas Safe
False information Im afraid, as a Gas safe registered engineer or company, you have the option to opt out of such searches and only visable via your company registration number
