Is there a single primer that covers these situations?

I'm redecorating one of my rooms and have a number of different issues that need a primer for:

1. I'm building an MDF bookcase into an alcove that will be painted.

2. The dark wood stained window frames will be sanded down to provide a key for the primer.

3. The skirting boards have old white gloss paint. These will also be sanded before priming.

I will probably be using Caparol PU satin as a top coat finish for all three, as I've used it in other rooms and like the finish.

I would prefer to use water based products if possible. I have used Zinsser BIN in the past, but found it quite difficult to use due to the very fast drying time.

Are there any single primers that will be good for all these jobs, or will I need to get different ones for each one.

I would appreciate any advice on what options there are.

Thanks.

Zinsser BIN is quick drying but it's a one coat product and very thin plus it has no opacity.
You just need to get a cover on with a mini roller and brush. No messing or trying to get it to cover any dark background. Don't go back over and don't second coat.
Just get on with it. You just have a thin covering.
Then when dry and it can look terrible but it's fine.
Get a waterbased undercoat over then.

As for your question coverstain will do it but wouldn't be my choice. That will go over everything but will take a few days to cure.

I would prime the MDF with one coat of gardz.
Old gloss and dark wood one zinsser BIN and crack on.
Then any waterbased undercoat over the Gardz and zinsser BIN
