Is there an accepted method to replace a fence panel that's not the standard size?

I'm helping a friend to replace a fence panel that's basically disintegrated.
From post to post, it's 132cm and it only needs to be around a metre high.
No one sells a panel that width. In fact, they all seem to be 6ft/1.83cm in width.
Are you supposed to buy one and somehow cut it down to size?
I wonder if you can get them less than 90cm in height so it could fit in my car, otherwise she'll probably have to pay a delivery fee too.

Are they easy/cheaper to make instead?

Thanks very much.

You buy a standard panel, remove the end vertical battens from each side, trim the laps down as necessary and then reattach the end battens. Standard heights are 3ft, are you sure yours isnt 3ft? Wickes are quite reasonable for delivery charges, £4 I think.

As above
But
I reattach the end vertical battens and then use that as a guide to cut the laps (stops them bouncing and vibrating about as I cut).

All you need is a saw. If you cut it in the car park it will fit in your car.

But cut-down panels tend to be less strong and rigid (the nailed joints are very flimsy) so I like to attach extra battens, using roofing bolts, predrilled, in the corners.

Roofing batten is suitable and cheap.

If you use a 6x1 timber gravel board (if it hasn't already got one) then you can use a 90cm high panel. Dig the plank into the ground to get the panel to sit at the height you need.

Thanks very much for all your help and the tips, very useful.
At least I know how it's done.
Now I have to remember if the slats go vertical or horizontal, my memory's like a sieve
