Hi,

I have just received the quotation for changing the programmer for the zoning system to work.

Remove existing programmer (VRT360F)
Fit new Honeywell CM927
Electrician to wire

Labour and materials: £185.00 inc V.A.T.

Is that a decent price?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds fairly reasonable to me.

But you will always get someone to do it cheaper.

It sounds as if there is considerable extra wiring to be done if a new zone valve is to be wired up to the new programmer.

Tony

Not at all, the Honeywell is the wireless version. The boiler and associated plant equipment are located in a cupboard, at the moment there are two transmitters for the two controllers, the electrician needs to remove the existing Vaillant transmitter and wire the new Honeywell one to the 2-port valve (The valve is in the cupboard)

What about doing it yourself? I bought a similar setup from Siemens and it was a doddle... :D

Doing it yourself would be cheaper.

However you would have to make an appointment, visit your site, write yourself a quote first, address it to yourself 1st class, then post it on the internet to be absolutely sure you were getting value for money........

Buy a Honeywell CMT927.

All for £185 less the VAT = £157

People think this job is easy.
