Is this car speaker knackered?

Hi all

Unfortunately I don't have the means to test it at the moment.... Just wondered if anyone can tell me by looking whether this speaker is dead or still usable?

For sure its taken some damage but I've seen a lot worse... it should be fine but maybe you could fix that gap with something?
My guess is that it will be ok.

It may well work
You can test it moves by connecting a battery (about 9v) across it
You could use tape to fix the tear. We used to use tissue paper and glue

Probably easier to go to a scrap yard

I am not sure it is even relevant. I believe the seal is made at the level of the membrane i.e. where you see the bulge.
