Is this correct?

Coat the area with 2 coats of PVA
Use multifinish, 2 coats

I guess I just grade the multi down to nothing as I get a little way along the all, then sand the edges when it's dry?

Some of the wall has divets about 50mm diameter, and 10mm deep, will the multi fill these okay for me?

Fill the deeper parts with bonding.
