Hi All,

I've got some 20mm blue MDPE that runs into our garage - it was installed before we moved in, and I want to tidy it up so its not in the way - Its quite a long length, so I had planned to cut it back and put a 20mm compression stopcock on the new end, but looking at the state of the MDPE, I'm not sure I want to attempt it - lots of scoring and marking along the length of the pipe - I'm wondering if its going to be possible to get a decent seal on it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks Exedon, I've got a brass stoptap with a copper insert - but its one of those jobs, once I've cut it, there is no going back.

I'll have a go tomorrow, at least a shop will be open for emergency supplies

MDPE can also take a little smoothing up with some 120grit then some tape on the olive. Don't use pushfit if it's badly marked/scored.
