Is this plasterboard or asbestos?

Hi all.

My builder is renovating my cloakroom in my 1980's house. The ceiling was previously plastered over in a recent job (he wasn't sure if it was asbestos or not) but it was not finished properly so a new builder suggested that (from an air vent) it looked like plasterboard and not asbestos so he suggested replacing the whole ceiling with plasterboard. after taking a piece out he says it is really white and had a smell he wasn't familiar with so he's not sure if it's asbestos or not.

I've taken photos. What do you guys think?

One of the pieces says "British gypsum limited"

Ahh, the standard asbestos 'sniff' test! That's a new one to me, please don't try it at home!
Very probably plasterboard, but if you want to check, online asbestos testing services are quick, cheap and easy to use.
I have used:

several times before.

Thanks, I certainly won't try that!

I have tried testing kits but obviously we would like to continue the job if other people know by the information above.

Does just look like plasterboard, but to be 100% it needs testing.
