Is this soil good enough for turf

I'm getting ready to lay some turf.

I used a fork to break up the area before rotavating as the ground was rock hard and the rotavator was not able to dig in some areas and it would suddenly take off at 100 mph.

The soil came up in large clumps but with a bash with the fork they broke down easily enough, the rotavator broke them down further.

Is the soil good enough to lay turf on, or do I need to bring some top-soil in?

Many thanks for any help.

It comes with it's own top soil but surely it grows into the soil below?

I've been reading the posts on here and some say you should bring in about 100mm of loamy top soil before laying turf, this will mean me removing 100mm of soil first.

Just need to know if I really have to do it?

Thanks.

Thanks for your help everyone. I will add granulated Fertiliser as per WabbitPoo's advice.
