Hi There

Some questions if anyone knows the answers, in numerical order if possible please.

1) do you think wall insulation makes a noticeable improvement quickly.

2) does the various foil products for putting behind radiators help.

3) which is the cheapest/best product for rads.

4) what is best method for sticking it to wall.

Thanks in anticipation.

It's pointless doing this, unless you intend to fix it to the whole wall, top to bottom, left to right with the stuff.
Some of this stuff is self adhesive or use the fixing method that will come with the products information.

Ban all sheds

You mean like a wallpaper paste or a silicone no nails type.

To put behind rads to bounce heat back.

Help to bounce the heat back

To warmth of room

THe 1st I did mine I was lucky I could get Ally sheet, I put a lip on it about 2mm thick & put polyurathane sheet behind it & screwed it to the wall behind rad (dont go to the full size of the rad, as you dont want to see it)
The 2nd time in current property I used the sheet you can buy with foil on 1side on a roll& used wallpaper paste, mixed thick.

Probably not much, and not very quickly, if at all. It will reduce heat loss through the wall, but unless your heating system doesn't work it's not going to make the room warmer, just cost you less to heat.

Help to bounce the heat back
It will reflect it onto the radiator, not into the room.

Are you prepared to take them off the wall, or do you only want to install whatever you can push down the gap?

Yup, or whatever the maker recommends.
