Isolating up and down heating

Hello,

I have cold house and large heating bills so would like to be able to switch off heating to the upstairs for points during the day.

On the outlet from the boiler I have two pipes being hot water and CH. The CH splits into two, one for up and the other for down. Could I fit motorised valve to switch the supply to just the downstairs?

put one on the hw as well and you have an "S" plan +
