What type of isolating valve should I use for a power shower. I notice that the bore seems very small on standard (screwdriver operated ones) but the lever type sold as gate valves seem to have full bore. Will the flow be resticted by the screwdriver operated one?
You'll be allright, it's such a short period where the flow is restricted on a power shower you wouldn't notice it IMVHO.
I don't think it's strictly necessary either, service valves have to be fitted on float valves and on dhw supply pipe, but not strictly necessary on every other type of appliance in a domestic dwelling ocupied by a single family..
