I'm looking to buy a HONDA CRV 2012 & have noticed that the electrical towing socket has 13 pins thus being what they call European.
My current car being a Suzuki & trailer use the standard 7 pin setup.

Because of this i bought a converter lead that connects the new car 13 pin to my trailer 7 pin thinking problem solved.

The outcome is as follows.

In the new car I put the indicators on one at a time & they flash much faster than normal & the brake light or is it side light also flashes at the same time.
Hmmm so I decide to connect trailer to my Suzuki.

I turn on the indicators one at a time & they work fine as they should & not flashing fast like on the HONDA
My trailer has led as opposed to bulbs BUT i haven't done anything with my electric inside the car.
I just changed from normal bulbs to led type.

Does this sound like the led bulbs are at fault or the converter lead ?

Thanks

Led bulbs often need some form of resistor or some such in the circuit to sort out the flash rate but it seems strange that its okay on you car but not the Honda. I would be checking the Honda trailer socket wiring to make sure its correct. If that doesn't work I would change the leds for normal bulbs and see what that does

Flash rate on my Suzuki with trailer is fine.
Honda faster.
My Suzuki is 2005
Honda is 2012
So I was wondering if the Honda can bus system has some affect with it.

I need to try it out with a trailer board & bulbs to illuminate my led.

Sound about right to you ?
