Hi

Does anyone know why the Italians use Type C MCbs in a domestic environment. Was over there recently and noticed that in a domestic environment they all use double pole type C's.

Just curious....thanks

Because they use 16A radial circuits instead of our 32A rfc, inrush on some devices would take out a B16, the C type I'm told have simular characteristics to the old 'bottle fuses' they used to use.

The DP thing seems pretty common over there, not sure if its just preference or regs though

the combination of a B32 and a plug fuse comes out pretty similar to a C16 afaict.
