So the first thing to say is that I'm an idiot. The second thing to say is that someone on TikTok made a video saying you could clean your drains more easily by removing the sink's stopper (you can do this by lodging the strainer that sits on top of it sideways and turning it as per the first picture). However when I did this, I heard what could've been a seal breaking. The stopper now turns both ways but neither unscrews or tightens, and water slowly seeps out of it even though the plug is in. I've thankfully only done this in the smaller secondary 'waste' sink (see second picture) so could in theory avoid pouring anything down there until I get a plumber in.
Can I continue to use the other sink and the dishwasher that's to the left of it without worrying about leaks? See third picture for what it looks like under the sink.
I'm assuming I can but I am in a first floor flat so definitely don't want any water leaking down through my downstairs neighbour's ceiling. I can't think of any logical reason why this might happen but I am an overthinker! I've not noticed any water in the cupboard under the sink so I imagine it's fine. But yes, I will get it fixed.
Many thanks for any advice/reassurance/guidance.
