Looked at a jacuzzi yesterday, the Hagar 16A RCBO is continuouslt tripping.

Continuity 0.47 IR all >299 EFLI 0.71 2.5mm supply to Switched FCU

under the bath the only point of isolation besides the RCBO!!!! Cover can be removed WITHOUT a tool.

The switches on the bath are loose so plenty of opportunity for water ingress!!!!

Anyway when I carried out the 'RCD' test failed to trip on 1X and 5X

Tested the RCBO at the CU.

1x failed to trip 5x tripped at 8.2mS Ramp Test gave 15mA

I am going to replace the RCBO (if the client is prepaered to pay, 2 doctors, huge house quibbled over the £60 charge for testing jacuzzi circuit and several very badly fitted light fittings)

Just wondering if any of you have any thoughts on this.

Issued a minor works cert and made specific notes as to the state of the jacuzzi installation and that it should not be put into service until ALL remedial works had been carried out!!!!

If the RCBO failed the test in isolation then you're right to replace it.

But what did you complete a MWC for?

Basically a MWC to make the customer get the install of the jacuzzi sorted, did not have a 'unsafe installation' doc available so thought it best way to cover my arse!!!!!
