Hi All,
I have this problem that the top window (ie opens upward) only opens a few centimetres and no more - see photos. The locking handle works properly and the shoot bolts are totally disengaged and there is nothing on the bottom of the window mechanism which is catching. If I put some brute strength on it will open a few more millimetres but I am not, at this stage, willing to really go for it.
I assumed that the slider hinges (my words) on either side may have become stuck and have been able to squirt some WD40 on to them from both inside and out (it is an upper floor window) with no success.
I am now thinking that the slider mechanism has become distorted for some reason and is no running smoothly.
I have done the usual Utube videos but there is nothing which fits the bill.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Bob
