Javascript buttons, BB Code and Google Chrome

I am (recently) finding that the BB tags that are placed either side of highlighted text no longer work correctly when using Google Chrome as my browser. They previously worked fine.

When I highlight the text and click a BB code button, the open tag is placed at the end of my text (highlighted or not), and the close tag does not appear until I click preview or post

Can you see what I mean?
