sounds like a good idea in principle, but it's another thing to carry around, will invariably be flat or left at home. I reckon it would go the same way as any PDA I've ever bought, forgotten in a draw somewhere, or flogged on ebay. Also, someone will surely produce an app that performs this kind of thing on a smartphone, may have already been done.

No Eddie, you don't carry it around (although you can access the calendar from your smartphone / pda)

It's the size of a digi photo frame and it stays at home.

oh, probably even less use to me then.

I took a quick look at that link, thinking that this might be good as a semi-portable video player, but it's only got 1Gbyte of memory! :o :o :o That's barely enough for two movies - and there's no mention of an SD card slot either.

What were the designers thinking! :?: :?: :?: Come on you guys; memory is cheap and SD slots don't take up much space. Yes, I can put my SD cards into a USB adapter but that's a clart and a half. It's also not clear that I could play video straight through the USB port. Sorry, but it's no sale from me. :( :( :(

Just stream it upnp from a media player!! The memory is redundant then. It works great!

OK, I decided to take a closer look. The information available on that website isn't great but here's what I think I found.

1) The thing is designed primarily as a calender so it doesn't need a huge memory. That could be useful but here's a puzzle. You can enter and edit details into the calender directly from the joggler screen, so why do you have to set it up over the internet first? :?: :?: :?: Is there any good reason why anybody at O2 should know - or care - that I have an electronic calender in the house? Presumably, they must establish a link to my joggler to perform the step that I can't do myself. What else are they going to use this link for? Will they be spying on me? There is no way to install Spybot S&D to find out. The hardware firewall in my router will not prevent this gadget from calling out to O2 unless I make some changes to it's setup - which is something most non-technical users will never do. I smell a large economy sized rat.

2) It's use as a music/photo/video player is severely restricted by the limited memory so maybe this function was an afterthought. You can't play files directly through the USB port. :( :( :( You can, as toasty says, play files that reside on another computer on your network but this is very restrictive. What if I want to take it to a friend's house - or on holiday?

All in all, I think it's a badly thought out piece of junk. As I said before, memory is cheap. This could have been a really good all-round media player but it's been crippled by shoddy design. And as for the need to set it up through the O2 website; go take a long walk off a short pier!
