John guest speed fit tap connectors

I see john guest do a speedfit tap connectors that you only apparently have to tighten hand tight. I have a fill valve to swap that is plumbed via one of these. Do people still tend to do 1/4 turn with grips/spanner or is this totally not needed?

Thanks are the washers usually ok when replacing a fill valve? Guess I should really get a spare.

They might be - but really should be replaced each time. Why risk leaks for the sake of a few pence?

Thanks just looked at one of these connectors it's all one piece as.in the nut doesn't screw back looks like would be hard to get the washer out.

Do plumbers rate these connectors is just one on. Were I need to swap a fill valve.
