Hi, i have an Onn dvd player/recorder... However, when i watch a dvd, especially a dark scene, i see a 'join' down the screen, almost like a piece of sellotape.... can anyone explain what this is?

No, it's always in the same place, just left of centre.
Mmm, I've only ever seen rolling ghosting - maybe you could try a better quality scart lead - if that's what you are using of course.
I had a ghosting problem with a Monster scart, which I cured by swapping it with a Maxview lead (surprisingly).

yep it stays put like the DVD player can't cope with a 42" tv and has to sellotape the screens together ! i will try to swap the scarts at the weekend.
