Joining 6mm Cooker cable

Can you join 6mm cooker cable? I.e 1 cooker switch near the cooker (45amp) and one for the join (45amp)
 
I suppose you could wire through two switches...but why would you want to? Easier/neater to use a 3 way 6mm chocblock connector, in a surface box with a blanking plate on the front. But if you must, you must...
