Hello guys,

I'm about to finished building my kitchen, the work tops I've got are solid wood. They are square edged worktops all the way round. I assumed I would need a mitre joint that goes up and then across

However I've been told to but them up to each other and buscuit them.

Is this the right way about it?

Thanks in advance

Mitring is used to deal with joining a bullnosed or chamfered edge.

If your tops are square edged then you can butt them.

But if there is a tiny chamfer on the front edge, then butting them will leave a gap or a groove, so you will probably need to mitre them
