My house got flooded a couple of months ago & the insurance contractor is currently stripping the walls down to the brick. Anyway, the dozy git has cut through one of the cables feeding a double socket outlet.
Now knowing heehaw about electrics, I want to know what an acceptable repair is? Is it to replace the length of cable between socket & wherever the other end goes? Or, can the cable be joined?
I obviously want the repair done right & don't want to be fobbed off with something illegal/dangerous just because doing the right thing might be expensive.

Thanks for your help folks

With the walls being stripped back to brick replacement should be simple.

And then leave the power on to focus the dozy git's attention....

Thanks for the prompt replies. He was plugged into to the socket with his transformer & big drill at the time.
Sparky arrived already! Cable being replaced. Thanks.
