I've to join a 22mm Speedfit recirculating DHW loop under the floor to 14 year old 15mm Hep20, rising through the floor, to the various hot taps.

Is it appropriate to do this with Speedfit branch reducing Ts with appropriate inserts in all the pipe or should I use compression fittings. The former will be much easier in the confined space.

Helpful advice gratefully receied.

It would be a bit gash, but you could go from speedfit to copper to hep2o fittings, as both manufacturer's allow copper pipe to be used in their pushfit fittings.

Compressions it is, thank you gentlemen.

I would be worried that to introduce copper as well, would add complication but thank you for your thought.

As long as the compression fitting is accessible, but I still would go with that preferred option. Use copper olives!

I've used copper olives with the plastic pipes as the ones I have are slightly longer than the brass ones which means a little more pipe is captured.

What are the other reasons for coppe olives?

I like these because they compress easily - sometimes well beneficial in a tight spot!
