I'm penny pinching again - well pound pinching in this case....

Going to be hanging 225mm floor joists of a wooden central beam and ledger plates in other areas. Have noticed the traditional joist hangers - the ones that tend to be long and wrap over the top are about £35 for 50 of them. There aslo seems to be multi truss hangers that are made from thicker steel and face fix only. They look better, offering more side support, but come in around £3-4 each..... I'd be lucky to get 10 for the price of 50 of the traditional ones.

What do you lot use?

multi truss hangers are more useful when you're working in a confined area and simply cannot take anymore than bare minimum floorboard up.

With multi truss hangers there's usually a 5mm hole (for sheradized 3mm nail) and M12 hole. Do you have to use both to be structurally sound?
