Junction box required?

I’ve just moved this light 4 inches to the left (don’t ask). All the wires used to be in one of those horrible brown round screw terminal jobbies. Now in wagos, but should they by rights also be inside a junction box?

Can’t see the point myself, but I’m always keen to do the ‘right’ thing.

Yes, they should be, and it should enclose all the conductors where the sheaths have been removed, and the cables should have restraints to stop them pulling on the connectors.
