Anyone used Just For Copper (JFC).

Project coming up; new basin, new shower.
The pipework is behind a false half-wall, so I'll be standing on my head to do half the job.
Has to be heat-free (don't want to singe me wig), too tight to wield a wrench for compression, so options are push-fit or copper/JFC.

Yes I have used it on an "out of interest" thing and it is not to be trusted imho.

The joints it makes are sealed in a similar way to liquid ptfe thread sealants, so roughing the pipe is essential as that is what keys the adhesive in.

Stick with pushfit imho.

Arr don’t seem natural somehow, it be trickery I reckon, work o the devil I shouldn’t wonder. Next thing will be them invisible water an gas pipes manufacturers uses on them catalogue picture things when they shows boilers an water ‘eaters on the wall to customers.

I've used it, but in a brass-on-brass situation. Customer not happy with 11/2" and 2" float valve arms only being screwed together. They were locked solid after using the JFC. We stocked it for about 5 years when it first came out - never sold one bottle. Ended up in the skip.

The only bottle that came out of stock was the one I used on the float valves - all bl00dy 50 of them. Tedious job!

I've got a bottle in the front of the van that's been there for about 6 yrs after buying it at a trade show, never used it once

It sounds a bit like our local PTS, I asked for some loctite 55 and he said the exact same thing. "We got some in and had it on the shelves for years and no one ever asked for it".
I couldn't work out why he never had any to sell me in that case
I know lots of lads on here swear by it, just not round our way obviously.
As for just for copper, I wouldn't trust it. Glueing plastic pipe is one thing but glueing metal just doesn't seem right.

yep i wouldn't use anything else, i get mine from plumbs, neither pts or city keep it round here

Use one wrap dan its better than that pish thin stuff i dont know how anyone can use that
