I am trying to work out why the interior heating fan on my 04 plate Kangoo 1.6 auto has suddenly stopped working completely.

There are two fan fuses, on the label for the fuse box and both fuses are OK.

Before the failure the fan was working correctly, at each speed.

There's a pull out plug serving the dshboard controls. Only the yellow is permanently 12V

Anyone know where I could get a wiring diagram without registering on a site with a credit card or if anyone has had the problem, did you find a solution.

Kind regards

AM

I went to local library and got hold of a haynes manual for my car.
sorry i can't help you more.. if you hang around there's some clever chaps here to set you on the right path.

Do you still get 12v on the yellow with it plugged in and switched on? Sometimes volt meters give a healthy reading where there is a bad connection or faulty part, if the system is loaded then the 12v can disappear.

The plug is tucked away when plugged in so not easy to assess.

I am presumimg the yellow is the 12V feed for the cluster (fan and A/C) but without knowing the wiring colours I don't know what to do to bypass the switch and ascertain whether it's the switch or the fan motor that has failed. Neither look much fun to deal with.

Without a wiring diagram is impossible to tell.
You may find it works the opposite way around to what you think i.e. there may be a 12v feed to one side of the fan motor and the other side of the fan motor connects to negative via the selector switch and resistors.
