Vauxhall Astra Cigarette Lighter not working

Hi There

I Have a 1998 Manual Vauxhall Astra 1.6 LS five door.

This issue i am having is my cigarette lighter has stopped working i have replaced the male and female part (Although i did purchase these from local scrap yard although waqs promised it was still working) and checked fuses yet it is still not working.

Can anyone help with this issue ?

The WAGS over here wouldn't work for us in the scrapyard?

Check to see if you have power at the centre terminal using a test bulb or voltmeter. Connect the black lead to the steel bodywork (chassis earth) and the red lead to the centre terminal you should have battery voltage (12volts).

Double check its the correct fuse and replace it with a good fuse to see what happens.

Still no joy, you have an open-circuit somewhere between the lighter and battery positive terminal.
