Hi hoping there's someone out there that overcome this issue. I have a little kitchen and bathroom to lay Karndean flooring.
My problem is sometime in the past bitamin has been used on this floor. I know I can't screed over the stuff as it reacts and just lifts the screed. The saving grace is, it is very flat.
Has anyone out there came across this problem before. If so any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Brian

to the book the bitumin should be removed by bead/shot blasting etc.

However, if the bitumin is very thin so you can pretty much see the subfloor through it then you can screed over it with a sutible compound.

You can use Fballs 131 primer and 200 acrlic compound.
