Ones for a boiler will have a 3A fuse so virtually any cable will be satisfactory.
really you studied till you were 21 you should be running the country, I did a 4 year apprenticeship with BG, 3 as a service engineer then 1 as a Technician, I have a degree in mechanical engineering , a degree in off shore employment law, and a degree in business management, and if this lad wants any advice that I can pass on freely ,then I will do so more than happily, the whole structure has changed and I applaud this lad for asking for advice , instead of being like you, and think you know everything, I have worked in many countries and with many boiler manufactures at R&D stages, and I have forgotten more than you will ever know , yet you try to bully and belittle a lad asking for adviceStudying until 21 is not having anything handed to me on a plate.

You'd better rewire the boiler as well then; someone might use a nail.Ones for a boiler should have a 3A fuse but someone may have changed the fuse and fitted a 13 amp instead. ( how many people have spare 3 amp fuses in the house ). Hence cable that will survive a short overload current while the 13 amp fuse melts should be considered.

3 as a service engineer then 1 as a Technician,
Not sure how the structure is now , but when I was there , you did an apprenticeship (3 years) and you became a service engineer, if you were asked you could extend another year and become a Tech, was a big decision as you were still a student and lost a lot of money from just going straight on the toolsDoes BG ( British Gas ? ) consider a Technician needs more training than an engineer ?
