We had this Kenwood breadmaker since 12/2012. It has been fine until yesterday. It wood not knead. The paddle was not moving and the breadmaker sounded very laboured.
I cleaned the tin and took the circlip at the bottom around the shaft off and bits apart. There was a lot of rust and even with WD40 and mechanical force on the shat it would not move at all. Also the seal inside the tin was loose.

The last time we used it about 2 weeks ago we did not notice anything wrong.

Is this just a case of bad luck or poor quality?

Our last breadmaker from ALDI has lasted a lot longer for less money.
