This had not been used for a couple of years. It fills with water, which appears to circulate through the water softener, and then the drain pump runs. Nothing further happens. The wash pump motor turns okay with a screwdriver in the slot in the end of the shaft. A multimeter on the connector in the lead to the motor does not show any voltage. Any suggestions as to why the motor is not getting power. I do not have a circuit diagram or anything that tells me how the power gets to the motor or if there is asensor or something that has to operate first?

has the flood detector under the base activated?

The flood detector is not operated.
I have now tried wedging the float up to see what happens when the machine is switched on and it immediately brings up the E4 error code.
Unless there is another sensor that has to be operated (or not) before the pump is powered I assume it must be the control board that is at fault.

Has sludge hardened in the sump, ?can trick the machine into thinking there is still water to clear before continuing.

Thank you for the suggestions.
I eventually found the problem to be a loose wiring connection to the control board.
