Kenwood kdw60w10 dishwasher

Hi all

I have the above dishwasher and it shows after a while a E1 code fault, which says in the manual it is something to do with flow.
However the water is flowing into the machine and it works for a while but then when it should be emptying it shows the code. Which makes me think it is the pump but I don't want to buy a pump and then it not work still has why would it show a flow fault code if the pump may be inop.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Update.

I removed the pump and found a small piece of debris stopping the pump from spinning. All working now.
