He is correct. We must be **** to put up with the likes of him. Then again, I meet him every day in every home. You just have to listen don`t you ? & realise that soon you will never have to meet/speak to them /him again..At least that is some comfort........

Well it's your own fault.

Ditch Baxi and make a boiler that is worthy of the Potterton name, yes it wasn't that long ago, and stop charging stupid prices for spares and you could once more rule the roost.

We want a boiler that is replyable not a rip-off, Grundfos pump for example £50.00, how much is a replacement pump for a potty boiler and why.

Just quoted to replace thge reversing valve on a Thelia 623. Told the customer if the plastic pump outlet spigot crumbles when I replace the hoses its another £169 for a new pump (trade price). This industry ****es me off.

Bought a part for the car lately? Payed garage costs lately?

Our industry is not expensive.

I miss the old gang too- especially ped. But bear in mind a lot of issues are now covered in faq's, so some of the lads may have posted an answer there and may not feel the need to duplicate advice.

The negative comments frequently made by some posters may well put them off - who needs bile after a hard day's work? I greatly admire Tony for persevering with his excellent advice.

Finally, I thought Kev had a new addition to his tribe - if so, he will be v. busy and v. sleepless!

just buy the £50 pump and swap the head then easy really isnt it oh and we do sell just the heads as well by the way now for round £40 :P

I've just ordered a complete Grundfos 15/50 for £25.

I have 4perfectly good second hand Grundfos's in the back garden, though I really must let them go, I am such a horder.

It would if they fitted :?

Most boilers they do not anymore, because of manufacturers wanting to sell their own 4 x the price ones.

You say you now sell just the head, a step in the right direction, but an of the shelf model would be far more user friendly. A pump is a pump, designing boilers with non-standard parts is yet another rip-off from the boiler manufacturers.

PCB is another example, more expensive than a motherboard and less reliable.
