key fob reset

can anybody tell me how to reset my key fob i have a hyundai 2.0 se coupe 1998 i have put new battery in it i cant afford the £40 hyundai want to charge me

thanks for the help but no info there i have looked all over car there should be a receiver unit with a switch on it i was told to turn switch to set then press buttons on fob then turn switch off then it should work any moor sugestions very welcome

Alarm system control module is located behind centre console.

1) With memory switch in OFF position switch ignition ON

2) Wait 5 seconds, set memory switch to SET position

3) Press remote control UNLOCK button to send code to alarm control module

4) Set memory switch to OFF position

5) Switch ignition OFF

6) Procedure complete, confirm locking/unlocking.

hi jonny thanks for info but all i can find is silver box but no switch cant see anythink else i am looking behind ashtray under radio am i in the right place steve

Sorry Steve thats all the info I have on it (Autodata). perhaps a Haynes Manual may help.

If you have two buttons on the key fob , hold them both down next to the car for 10 seconds , So the car and key fob can reset to each other . That should work
