hey all,

Bit of a random question this - but does anyone have any ideas how I can 'encourage' my kiddie stair gate to not swing shut when left open?

Basically it's at the bottom of my stairs - and when it's closed and locked, all is good but when it's not locked, it just sort of swings it's self across the stairs, whereas I'd like it to rest fully open.

I've tried elastic bands with limited success, but they don't last long and I've tried springs, but I can't find one that I can manoeuvre into place.

I'm sure it's something to do with the relative position of the hinges but I don't really want to experiment and drill loads of holes into to my newly plastered and painted wall.

Thx!

You need to have the gate vertical, leaning left or right it will swing to that side.
