I am wanting to add some lighting under my kitchen wall cabinets. I have found some that like the look of only there is not enough info on them. Have tried contacting the site with no luck so am trying the place i should have cam to first.

The product is...

Halolite Pol Chr Circular Downlight Cabinet Lights Contractor Kit Pack of 3

I am right in thinking these just need a 3 pin plug and then link each light to the transformer?

Yep looks about it, could install Fused connection unit(FCU) or link up to lighting circuit but will need to be down fused to 3-5 amps if using plug or FCU
When you buy the units there should also be some manufacturers instructions enclosed, which will give guidance on installation methods.

The 3 lights are 12volt ac ?? they are supplied via a 230/12volt transformer the 230volt side of the transformer can be connected to a 13amp plug with the fuse changed to 3 amps or as suggested previously a fused spur unit
(this is a lot more tidy)you can either screw the transformer onto the underside of the units or if possible on the top of the units
then you have to run the 3 cables from the lights up the back of the units to reach the transformer which should have the facilty to plug in 3 lights on the 12volt side

Thanks PrenticeBoyofDerry,

I thought that was the case but just wanted to be sure. I have sockets where the lighting will be going so no need for the fCU's.

@Knickam

They seem bright enough when switched on but if you can hold on to the
end of the week can let you know what like they are installed.
I'm not in any rush so will wait and see what you think. Thanks

@jimsky007

Thanks for that info. I do like the idea of running the cables up the back of the units but as there is no space behind and they are already fitted i will just fit the transformer to the underside. Don't really want to be knocking plaster off at this stage to fit fused spurs so will stick to the 3 pin plug method.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, Had to go away offshore :cry:

Have now seen the lights and they look very nice and light up
the worktop very well

Fluorescent lamps would have done a better job. Much better. Shame I didnt get here earlier. :(

Well I have to disagree with you there I am afraid.
I have fluorescents at home which do give good light
but require to be hidden. These leds are simply recessed
into a panel that is attached to the underside of the cabinets
giving a modern clean look and the light from them is very good.

The kitchen company that supplied the kitchen is also
going to start supplying these led's as they are also very
impressed by them.
