Hi guys, hoping you can help me on this. I cant seem to upload a picture, a shame as it would have helped a lot in explaining.
Any how, im planing to extend my kitchen and haven't yet decided what the best layout should be. I would like to extend it 2mtr forward and about 2.5mtr to the right. I'm a little unsure if its viable to breakthrough the existing walls to make one big open kitchen.

As the original kitchen is below one of the bedroom, how could i extend the kitchen as proposed as well as keeping sufficient support for the upstairs?

Without seeing a drawing/plan etc, it is impossible to comment. However there are few instances in a domestic scenario where a piece of steel would not solve this issue.

In some cases a steel beam may have to be below the ceiling level.
