Hi all,

I have recently had a new kitchen fitted and now have a chimney extractor fan. it has carbon filters and a vent either side of the chimney part going up to the ceiling.

The problem is that the air that is being blown out is hitting the cupboards either side and blowing doen onto the gas rings. This is effecting the flames and when on full power nearly blows them out!

The fan is the correct distance away from the hob so not sure what to do?

Has anyone else had this prob?!?

Thanks

Mark

It should vent directly to the outside wall. If not then it's installed incorrectly. What does the manufacturer/instructions say?

appartently with carbon filters it doesn't have to vent outside...as hfar as I can see it has all been fitted correctly

Take it back as unfit for purpose and get one that vents to the outside?

if it is blowing into the kitchen, it is not an extractor. it is a recirculator. this is not much good as it will not remove steam from the kitchen, and it will not create any suction to prevent cooking smells drifting round the house.

You might as well switch it off and use it as an ornament.

It is however easier to fit which might be why your installer chose it.
