I am still perusing the job sites looking for an alternative employer and happened upon a thought.

Who, or rather how, one would become a fitter for say Wickes, B&Q, Homebase, Howdens, Trade Ex, Benchmarx "get my drift" I know some of these companies have their own fitters, does anyone know how one could get on their books as it were!

Thank you, still struggling on!

why not go down to your nearest shed and have a chat with the manager/s,take if you have 1 a portfollio of work you have carried out to prove quality of work etc,and maybe ask past customers if they would allow an inspection?

gota be worth a go m8. ;)

A lot of the sheds, like B&Q and Homebase for sure, have Installation Managers per region and they take care of interviewing and employing fitters / fitting teams.
Try contacting some local branches and ask to be put in touch with their Regional Installation Manager.
