Hi there,

So I am hoping to get a kitchen fitter to secure my kitchen island (no appliances, just cabinets and counter top) to the floor and wall (it's against the wall, so technically not an "island").

I've been calling around for quotes and the first guy I spoke to said that he will glue my island to the floor.

I have laminate flooring and underfloor wet heating.

I don't have any DIY experience, so I just wanted to ask you guys first before I go with any specific kitchen fitter.

Can you glue islands down? Or should they always be drilled down?

Thanks,

Bolt it to the wall.
The weight of it will keep it on the floor.
Unlikely it will float in the air.
Don't drill through laminate and underfloor heating.
No glue necessary.

kitchen base cabinet?

if it only touches the wall at one end
peninsular

Was the underfloor heating laid out with this peninsular in mind? I.e. is there an area with no pipes underneath?

theres no need for any of it to be fixed to the floor.
