Kitchen mixer tap installation advice needed please....

Hi. Thanks to anyone looking at this post..... I really need some advice on which fittings I need to buy and how to install this tap. I am no plumber but can manage basic tasks. I can't get my head round how this tap was installed originally - it looks a right mess.
Any advice is really appreciated.
